This mission-driven program is an extension of the college’s activities in Monrovia, designed to reach communities in remote areas where travel to the city is impractical or impossible. Through Mobile College, the college’s vision of accessible, life-changing education is becoming a reality for students across Liberia.
The Vision Behind Mobile College
The inspiration for Mobile College comes from a simple yet powerful belief: that everyone should have access to quality education rooted in Biblical values and language development. In Monrovia, the college offers courses that equip students with essential knowledge and skills to enrich their faith and prepare for meaningful service. However, many in rural Liberia cannot make the journey to Monrovia due to distance and cost constraints. Mobile College was created to bridge this gap, delivering education directly to communities in need.
This month, Mobile College will be holding its first session at the Great Commission compound, followed by another in Gbarmue, Bong County. These classes will provide Biblical teachings and language lessons, empowering participants to grow spiritually and communicate more effectively within and beyond their communities.
Mobile 1 and Mobile 2: Bringing Education to Where It’s Needed Most
The Mobile College operates through dedicated teams, known as Mobile 1 and Mobile 2, each focusing on different locations across the region. These teams travel long distances to set up temporary classrooms in churches, community centers, or even under tents when needed, making it possible for students in hard-to-reach areas to join in.
Mobile 1 will be teaching at the Great Commission compound, offering classes and workshops that deepen students’ understanding of the Bible and equip them with valuable language skills. The following week, Mobile 2 will continue the mission in Gbarmue, Bong County, bringing the same quality education to a new group of students eager to learn.
Each trip involves careful planning, logistical coordination, and commitment from both the teaching staff and support volunteers. Their dedication ensures that every student, regardless of location, can engage with the curriculum and experience the joy of learning in a supportive environment.
